CPRE Kent

The Kent Branch of the Campaign to Protect Rural England is a countryside charity based near Wye, at Evegate. CPRE supported the Wye Park campaign, continues to support the establishment of the Wye Community Farm and recently published a report “Greater Ashford: A Vision in Peril” critiquing the progress of the Ashford growth plans. To find out about CPRE’s campaigns across the county and how to support them, visit: www.cprekent.org.uk or call Sean on 01303 815180.

Wye Crown

Since 1906 a much-valued hill figure that overlooks the village of Wye. b Always in some need of a little loving care and attention its survival has been greatly enhanced by the efforts of Donal Sykes and a dedicated band of workers.

Wye Bonfire Society

This is not even an organisation but Jack Woodford and Don Thake believe that the tradition of having a bonfire celebration in Wye on the 5th November is worth keeping. Sadly, the departure of so much teaching from the college and the gradual withdrawal of the college from active village life has meant that it will now fall upon the village to take on the role of event organisers. Volunteers are desperately needed if we are to progress the event for this and coming years.
