Organisers Wendy White-Thompson and Di Owen
Saturday the 30th January turned out to be the ideal weather for the Coffee Morning held at Cragmore House home of Mrs Di Owen. The crisp bright sunshine brought out a great number of people wishing to support the UNICEF Children’s Fund for the victims of the Haiti Earthquake Disaster.
In true Wye community spirit many cakes were baked along with other tastey treats by people from Wye and it’s surrounding areas. Others donated splendid prizes for the raffle.
Organisers of the event Wendy White- Thompson and Di Owen were more than pleased with the numbers that popped in to have a coffee and take part in what Wye residents enjoy most, the opportunity to meet up and have a good old natter!
Wyeweb do not yet know the exact total sum raised but we do know that it’s well over £950 with donations still coming in!
A good mornings work, yet again proving what a great community Wye is.

We have received this invitation from Mr. R. P. Sharma. It shows how much concern others in distant lands give to the memory of people who have died on their soil. I would like to express our gratitude to Mr Sharma for bringing this matter to the attention of the people of Wye. In the meantime I hope that relatives, friends or ex colleagues of Maurice Neville Deane will take up Mr. Sharnma’s offer.
Sir,
I am a Forester in the Indian Himalayan state of Himachal where I came across with cemetery of Maurice Neville Deane it is in a dilapidated condition . On searching his whereabouts on (the) net I come across with an article by Errol Roberts about Wye War Roll of Honour in which his name is mentioned. If any near and dear of his, interested to see this cemetery can contact me.
