Having checked with our Community Warden Nick Thistle Wyeweb are now able to report on the vandalism that occured on Saturday night.
Vandals left a trail of destruction through Little Chequers, Orchard Drive, Upper Bridge Street and Chequers Park. Vegetables on an allotment patch were smashed to the ground, fence edging was ripped up, a birdbath pulled over, flowers ripped out of the ground, a newly planted tree was uprooted and also a rose bush pulled out.
We can confirm that this unacceptable behaviour is being treated very seriously indeed by both our Community Warden Nick Thistle and also the Police.
If anyone has any information at all about the events that took place on Saturday night, please do not hesitate to contact either:
Our Community Warden Nick Thistle on 07969583920 , WPC Alison Barney our Community Police Officer on 07870252954 or Ashford Police Station 01622 690690

Our Community Warden Nick Thistle is very anxious that we warn villagers about bogus callers who are currently cold calling using either the company name of SAS Security or OFT Security. These callers will offer you a free security check. This is not genuine. Please do not accept these services. Refer the calls and details to either Nick Thistle on 07965583920 or report it to WPC Alison Barney on 07870252954 or Ashford Police Station.
