Wednesday evening had a chill in the air that did not sit easy with the spirit of the meeting. The members of the Wye Village Hall Management Committee were gathered together to witness, at long last, the signing of a new licence and lease for Wye Tennis Club. The latter, under the chairmanship of Graham Sutherland, had spent the best part of two years seeking funding and permission to replace their beloved portacabin with a purpose built clubhouse. The Village Recreation Ground and Village Hall are entrusted by the Parish Council to protect the land and interests of the playing fields and village hall in perpetuity. Thus, any change in the use of land or structures built on it has to be carefully examined. Continue Reading »

The Wye Parish Plan Steering Group has issued the final report of the survey carried out during 2007. All villagers will be getting a copy of this important expression of their views on the future of the village.
